Under supervision, performs varied simple and moderately physically strenuous tasks involved in cleaning and maintaining the sanitary conditions of the beachfront restroom stations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains the cleanliness of the beachfront restroom stations, sweeps and mops floors, cleans sinks, toilets and mirrors, fills paper towels, soap and performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge of: Procedures, materials and tools used in washing and polishing wood, tile, cement, linoleum, glass and other woodwork, furniture and fixtures.
Ability to: Handle cleaning problems, lift and move objects, organize cleaning work and develop work methods, understand, remember and carry out oral and written directions and learn quickly from directions and demonstrations; maintain a building, office unit or area in a clean, hygienic and orderly condition; follow safety precautions and report potentially hazardous conditions; work harmoniously with others; keep simple records; read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties if this position.
Valid New Jersey State Driver's license preferred not required. Transportation to job location required-not provided. Must provide and maintain a valid contact phone number.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Position requires employees to: Continuously talk or hear or communicate with the public, use hands or fingers, handle or feel and smell for unpleasant odors; frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 20 lbs., and occasionally sit, climb or balance on a step ladder, and lift up to 50 lbs. Special vision requirements: Close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position requires employee to: Frequently work in wet conditions and be exposed to fumes and unpleasant messes or odors; and work with cleaning chemicals and in outdoor weather conditions such as heat and/or rain and flooding.
