Performs responsible, varied work involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains, pipes, valves, pumps, hydrants and other water service equipment.
Performs work involved in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of roads, beaches, pedestrian beach accesses, vehicle beach accesses and beach dune systems.
Performs hot or cold patching of damaged roads.
Installs, paints and maintains road and street signs.
Maintains records and files.
May be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording information systems used by the agency, office or related units.
Knowledge of procedures used in making routine and complex repairs to public works facilities and the use of tools/equipment.
Ability to comprehend established routines, rules and regulations of a limited complexity.
Ability to work harmoniously with others.
Ability to operate and skillfully use specialized tools/equipment.
Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units. Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
