Definition:
The Ocean City Historical Museum is seeking a Museum Director who will be responsible for oversight of the Museum as well as the Ocean City Life Saving Station, & the Ocean City Life Guard Collection; will provide leadership, oversight of budgets, and determination of policies for acquisition & disposal of various museum collections. Will work with the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, The City of Ocean City & members of the public to support the mission of the Museum.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The museum director is responsible for running the museum which includes planning, organizing, staffing, funding & directing the museum. Oversees all levels of a museum's operations such as its annual budget, financial & fundraising aspects. Manages and supervises museum staff & oversees the various departments such as visitor services, education, sales & marketing.

Special Requirements:
A four-year college degree in Museum Science or its equivalent. 2-4 years of experience working in a managerial capacity at a museum or cultural center. Strong organization & project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team & align various interests. Ability to build & maintain relationships with a wide range of people including the City. Advanced computer skills, highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Send resume & cover letter to ewoods@ocnj.us Position closes on February 10, 2020.
