Under direction, performs a variety of routine functions involved with the use of the Skate Park; does related work as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Schedules use of Skate Park in accordance with established rules; settles disputes between groups or individual skaters regarding use of facilities; coordinates use of facilities to prevent skaters from interfering with one another; may collect fees from skaters; may inform skaters of rules concerning dress, conduct, or equipment and enforces rules or ejects unruly skaters or unauthorized persons as necessary; may patrol facilities to detect damage to facilities and report damages to appropriate authority; checks clothes and equipment sees that children do not injure themselves when using recreation equipment; administers first aid in case of accidents; sees that nothing is stolen; on occasion assists in the conduct of recreational activities; maintains orderly conditions with in the area; counts the number of participants; may perform varied routine tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of designated area; maintains simple records.
Experience: Some Practical skating experience preferred BUT not required.
Knowledge of: Skate Park safety.
Ability to: Read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position; count and record numerical data; perform basic arithmetic computations such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication; follow detailed oral and written directions; establish and maintain good working relationships with coworkers; work harmoniously with children and adults engaged in recreation activities; maintain suitable records and files, administer basic first aid; become certified basic first aid and in CPR.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Blower, phone, first aid kit.
Position requires employee to: Occasionally stand, walk, sit, climb up skate ramps stoop, kneel, or crouch to pick up litter, reach with hands and arms to maintain park and collect money, and operating a blower weighing 25 lbs approximately twice per week. Special vision requirements include: Close, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception, and Ability to adjust focus.
Position requires employee to: Continuously be exposed to skateboards and work in outdoor weather conditions such as sun, heat, humidity, wind, and cool weather. Employee could get caught in rain but would not work in it. Occasionally work on a 5-foot ramp and be exposed to blowing sand and auto exhaust. Loud noise is typical for the work environment. An employee may occasionally be required to change work hours or work beyond normal quitting time.
